النبإ
- 78:1
عَمَّ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
Sur quoi s'interrogent-ils mutuellement?
About what are they asking one another?
- 78:2
عَنِ ٱلنَّبَإِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
Sur la grande nouvelle,
About the great news -
- 78:3
ٱلَّذِى هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ
à propos de laquelle ils divergent.
That over which they are in disagreement.
- 78:4
كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ
Eh bien non! Ils sauront bientôt.
No! They are going to know.
- 78:5
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ
Encore une fois, non! Ils sauront bientôt.
Then, no! They are going to know.
- 78:6
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ مِهَٰدًا
N'avons-Nous pas fait de la terre une couche?
Have We not made the earth a resting place?
- 78:7
وَٱلْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا
et (placé) les montagnes comme des piquets?
And the mountains as stakes?
- 78:8
وَخَلَقْنَٰكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا
Nous vous avons créés en couples,
And We created you in pairs
- 78:9
وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا
et désigné votre sommeil pour votre repos,
And made your sleep [a means for] rest
- 78:10
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا
et fait de la nuit un vêtement,
And made the night as clothing
- 78:11
وَجَعَلْنَا ٱلنَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا
et assigné le jour pour les affaires de la vie,
And made the day for livelihood
- 78:12
وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا
et construit au-dessus de vous sept (cieux) renforcés,
And constructed above you seven strong [heavens]
- 78:13
وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا
et [y] avons placé une lampe (le soleil) très ardente,
And made [therein] a burning lamp
- 78:14
وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلْمُعْصِرَٰتِ مَآءً ثَجَّاجًا
et fait descendre des nuées une eau abondante
And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water
- 78:15
لِّنُخْرِجَ بِهِۦ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا
pour faire pousser par elle grains et plantes
That We may bring forth thereby grain and vegetation
- 78:16
وَجَنَّٰتٍ أَلْفَافًا
et jardins luxuriants.
And gardens of entwined growth.
- 78:17
إِنَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَٰتًا
Le Jour de la Décision [du Jugement] a son terme fixé.
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time -
- 78:18
يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا
Le jour où l'on soufflera dans la Trompe, vous viendrez par troupes,
The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes
- 78:19
وَفُتِحَتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَٰبًا
et le ciel sera ouvert et [présentera] des portes,
And the heaven is opened and will become gateways
- 78:20
وَسُيِّرَتِ ٱلْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا
et les montagnes seront mises en marche et deviendront un mirage.
And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage.
- 78:21
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا
L'Enfer demeure aux aguets,
Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait
- 78:22
لِّلطَّٰغِينَ مَـَٔابًا
refuge pour les transgresseurs.
For the transgressors, a place of return,
- 78:23
لَّٰبِثِينَ فِيهَآ أَحْقَابًا
Ils y demeureront pendant des siècles successifs.
In which they will remain for ages [unending].
- 78:24
لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا
Ils n'y goûteront ni fraîcheur ni breuvage,
They will not taste therein [any] coolness or drink
- 78:25
إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا
Hormis une eau bouillante et un pus
Except scalding water and [foul] purulence -
- 78:26
جَزَآءً وِفَاقًا
comme rétribution équitable.
An appropriate recompense.
- 78:27
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا
Car ils ne s'attendaient pas à rendre compte,
Indeed, they were not expecting an account
- 78:28
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كِذَّابًا
et traitaient de mensonges, continuellement, Nos versets,
And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial.
- 78:29
وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ كِتَٰبًا
alors que Nous avons dénombré toutes choses en écrit.
But all things We have enumerated in writing.
- 78:30
فَذُوقُوا۟ فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا
Goûtez-donc. Nous n'augmenterons pour vous que le châtiment!
"So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment."
- 78:31
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا
Pour les pieux ce sera une réussite:
Indeed, for the righteous is attainment -
- 78:32
حَدَآئِقَ وَأَعْنَٰبًا
jardins et vignes,
Gardens and grapevines
- 78:33
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا
et des (belles) aux seins arrondis, d'une égale jeunesse,
And full-breasted [companions] of equal age
- 78:34
وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا
et coupes débordantes.
And a full cup.
- 78:35
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّٰبًا
Ils n'y entendront ni futilités ni mensonges.
No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood -
- 78:36
جَزَآءً مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَآءً حِسَابًا
A titre de récompense de ton Seigneur et à titre de don abondant
[As] reward from your Lord, [a generous] gift [made due by] account,
- 78:37
رَّبِّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا
du Seigneur des cieux et de la terre et de ce qui existe entre eux, le Tout Miséricordieux; ils n'osent nullement Lui adresser la parole.
[From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech.
- 78:38
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ ٱلرُّوحُ وَٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ صَفًّا لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا
Le jour où l'Esprit et les Anges se dresseront en rangs, nul ne saura parler, sauf celui à qui le Tout Miséricordieux aura accordé la permission, et qui dira la vérité.
The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct.
- 78:39
ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْيَوْمُ ٱلْحَقُّ فَمَن شَآءَ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ مَـَٔابًا
Ce jour-là est inéluctable. Que celui qui veut prenne donc refuge auprès de son Seigneur.
That is the True Day; so he who wills may take to his Lord a [way of] return.
- 78:40
إِنَّآ أَنذَرْنَٰكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ ٱلْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ ٱلْكَافِرُ يَٰلَيْتَنِى كُنتُ تُرَٰبًۢا
Nous vous avons avertis d'un châtiment bien proche, le jour où l'homme verra ce que ses deux mains ont préparé; et l'infidèle dira: «Hélas pour moi! Comme j'aurais aimé n'être que poussière».
Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, "Oh, I wish that I were dust!"
